A fantastic success is all that could be said about the special fundraising Rogaine/Auction held around Wanaka on Saturday just been. Over $6600 was raised and every penny of it will go towards Katharine’s 2010 Winter Olympic bid. See the full list of results here

Big money up for grabs at Wanaka’s newest MTB race.

The Big ‘NOT so EASY’ – Starts at 1500m, climbs to 1900m then descends  down to 300m. 60km long- Entry fee’s- $95 ($20 per entry goes toward a cash prize pool. First place gets half the cash pool on offer for their category, second gets half of what is left and 3rd and 4th share the remainder. e.g. if there are 100 entrants in the 30-39yrs category there will be $2000 in the prize pool for that category so first place gets $1000, second gets $500, 3rd $300 and 4th 200.)

Is the BIG EASY the highest MTB ride in New Zealand?

The competitive option of the BIG EASY MTB event is the big ‘NOT so EASY’, It starts at 1400m then climbs up to the top of Mt. Pisa at 1900m. Does this make it the highest MTB ride in New Zealand? Finishing at 300m, does this make it the biggest descent in the country also?  We welcome your feedback.
