48km Mountain Bike course starts at the Snow Farm and travels to the top of Mt Pisa then a big down hill to Luggate crossing under the main road (stock underpass) then cross country back to the Albert Town Tavern. Entry fees Adult $85 until 1st Dec, $95 until 25th Jan $120 late entery. (includes a lunch and beer at the finish) –
Junior (under 19) $50. Includes full lunch at the Tavern.
Late registrations from 8.30am at the Snow Farm Lodge. Briefing 9.50. Race start 10am.
Race pack pick-up From 2pm-8pm on Friday 29th at the Albert Town Tavern
There will also be a late pick-up table at the start line for you guys travelling over on the day from the south please get there in plenty of time to avoid a rush – but if you’re staying in or close to Wanaka please collect on Friday.
Online entries close Thursday 28th January at 8pm. . Late entry fee of $25 for entries after Mon 25th Jan.
Lil’ Easy 18km Family fun ride.
Ride Start 12.30pm at Lake McKay Station Woolshed, Luggate.
Course Description Start at Lake Mckay woolshed (click here for map) doing an easy loop on farm tracks around the Station then joining in with the Big Easy heading to the Albert Town going under the main road (stock underpass) then heading toward the Clutha River for about 500m from their a short climb up onto the upper terrace following a farm track to Stevensons road, turn left onto Stevensons road travel 500 then turn left over farm tracks to Halliday Rd. follow Halliday Rd. the the crossing of the Cardrona River follow around the edge of the Clutha River to theBridge then up to the finish at the Albert Town Tavern. Entry fee’s Adult’s $30 Family $50 (1 or 2 Adults and 1 – 3 children, Online entries close Thurday 28 January at 8pm. (late fee $10 extra for cash entries on the day) Registration from 2pm-8pm on Friday at the Albert Town Tavern or 12pm Saturday at Lake McKay Woolshed (race start) Sorry, no meal provided with this event.
Basic Repair Kit including a spare tube, two thermal top layers plus a good quality water proof jacket, warm hat/hood you can fit under your helmet and gloves. There are water stations about every 10km but a 2L Camelbak should get you through without stopping!
We are not requiring proof of bike service, however we expect that all bikes to be of a standard for this type of terrain, as organisers we reserve the right to have a bike mechanic to inspect bikes randomly for race worthiness. If any problems with a bike cannot be rectified by the mechanic the bike will be withdrawn from the event. Don’t let that happen to you! Get a free bike inspection from Crank Cycles before hand!
Must be pre-booked with registration, $20 extra includes bike) LEAVING Albert Town Tavern (click for map) 8 am, and Pembroke Park (click for map) 8.15am. There will be a truck to take your bikes up give yourself time to load your bike before hopping on the bus!
Bus back up to the Snow Farm
The bus back up to collect your car leaves from the Albert Town Tavern at 3.00pm (Must be pre booked with registration – $15 extra)
